Heads or tails
How to flip a coin online
- Agree what heads and tails represent before tossing, such as heads for Player A and tails for Player B.
- Click or tap Flip the coin and wait for the animation to finish. Last flip shows the result.
- Flip again for another independent toss. The Heads and Tails counters record the completed flips in this session.
Example: choose who takes the first turn
Let one player call heads and the other take tails, then flip once. Agree in advance whether the decision uses one toss or a best-of-three series. For best of three, count the wins for each side and stop when one reaches two; repeated heads or tails are valid outcomes.
What a 50/50 coin toss means
Heads and tails have equal chances on each toss. That does not mean ten flips must produce five of each. A run of heads does not make tails due on the next flip. For a choice with a third option or an adjustable preference, use the yes or no generator. For more than two named choices, use the wheel spinner.
For the difference between a fixed sequence and a run anywhere in a longer series, see coin-flip streak probabilities.
Coin flip questions
Is this coin flip heads or tails with equal odds?
Yes. The result is selected with equal probability for each side using browser-based randomness. The animation displays the selected outcome; how you click or tap the button does not choose a side.
Can the coin land on the same side several times?
Yes. Each flip is independent, so consecutive heads or consecutive tails are possible. The session counts describe completed tosses rather than enforcing a balanced total.
Can I flip the coin many times?
You can flip again after each toss finishes. Each completed flip adds one to the matching counter.
Does the virtual coin work on a phone?
Yes. Tap Flip the coin in a supported mobile browser. You do not need a physical coin, a download or an account.
Will the flip counts survive a reload?
The counts belong to the current page session and restart when the page reloads. The Heads and Tails counters let you compare the results of successive tosses.
