Spacebar Double-Tap Test
The double-tap test times how fast you can perform a clean double-tap on the spacebar. Each run has 5 rounds. In every round, you perform two quick presses and the test measures the gap between them in milliseconds.
It is useful for practicing double-tap actions for games, checking whether your keyboard registers double-presses properly, or just seeing how consistent your double-tap speed is.
First tap starts round 1. Each round records the time between two quick presses.

Double-Tap Test FAQ
How fast is a good double-tap?
Double-tap timing measures how quickly you can press the key twice in a row. Typical ranges:
- Over 220 ms: slower double-taps, probably not focused on speed
- 150-220 ms: normal range for most users
- 100-150 ms: fast double-taps, above average control
- Under 100 ms: extremely fast double-taps, usually seen in very practiced users or with specific techniques
Consistency also matters. If one or two rounds are very fast but the rest are much slower, your peak is good but your control is unstable. A strong overall result is a low average double-tap time with relatively small differences between your best and worst rounds.
These ranges are approximate and meant only as rough guidelines.
What is the double-tap test?
It is a 5-round speed test that measures the time between two quick presses of the spacebar. Each round records a single double-tap interval, giving you a detailed look at how fast and consistent your double-taps are.
How do I use it?
When the test is ready, double-tap the spacebar or tap area to perform round 1. The first tap starts the timer for that round, and the second tap stops it. After a short cooldown, the next double-tap starts the next round. Complete all 5 rounds to finish the run. Reset lets you abort a run and start again from round 1.
How should I read the results?
Once all 5 rounds are done, you will see your time for each round, along with your average double-tap time, best (shortest) time and worst (longest) time. The "Recent double-tap runs" list stores your latest full runs in this session so you can compare different attempts.
Can I use this to test double-tap for gaming or keyboard issues?
Yes. This is a good way to see how quickly you can double-tap for games that rely on rapid inputs. It can also help you notice if your spacebar is missing presses or misbehaving with fast double-taps.
Does it work on mobile and with a mouse?
Yes. You can double-tap the on-screen button on touch devices or with your mouse. The test does not require a keyboard, so you can measure double-tap-like timing with any input that can click the tap area twice quickly.
How accurate is the timing?
Timing is based on millisecond timestamps in your browser. That is accurate enough to compare your double-taps on the same device and see relative improvements. Keep in mind that hardware and browser differences can influence exact numbers slightly.
